Leveraging Preventive Care to Improve Health Outcomes for Government Employees
Only 8% of U.S. adults have received all of the high-priority, appropriate preventive care recommended. Developing affordable and accessible healthcare programs are critical to engage employees and catch conditions early. As the second leading cause of cancer deaths in America, colon cancer is particularly relevant for the state personnel population as 75% of people with colon cancer do not experience symptoms. During this webinar, LetsGetChecked Public Sector Vice President, Thomas Carey, is joined by Mississippi State Personnel Board Executive Director, Kelly Hardwick, to discuss preventive care options and the importance of colon cancer screening specifically.

State and Local Government Workforce Survey 2024
State and local governments continue to face severe labor shortages and are deploying new strategies to attract and retain public service workers. State and local governments hired more full-time or part-time staff in 2022 than in 2021, but it was more common for agencies to report that quits and retirements increased rather than decreased. Jurisdictions also reported deploying new strategies to widen the pool of job candidates, such as dropping degree requirements for some positions.
This survey of public sector human resources professionals has been conducted annually since 2009 by MissionSquare Research Institute in collaboration with the Public Sector HR Association (PSHRA) and the National Association of State Personnel Executives (NASPE).
