Improving Organizational Performance through Employee Engagement Data

For over 20 years the Partnership for Public Service has produced the annual Best Places to Work in the Federal Government® rankings, the most comprehensive and authoritative rating of employee engagement and satisfaction in the federal government. Through the implementation of these rankings the Partnership has identified that employee engagement is an essential variable that impacts a department’s ability to successfully achieve its mission. When employees are engaged, they are better retained and capable of achieving results.

The Partnership has deep experience using data to drastically reform culture and performance. Key to achieving this is through intentionally understanding the employee voice and using their feedback to implement organizational reforms. This discussion will focus on building momentum for carrying out this type of data collection, supporting leadership in identifying priority areas and asking staff effective questions that lead to action.
